Wisconsin is the 23rd largest state in the United States and the 30th to be admitted to the Union. Wisconsin was admitted to the Union on May 29th, 1848. Wisconsin is situated near the center of the North American continent. It touches two of the five Great Lakes.
Wisconsin is bordered by the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois, as well as Lakes Michigan and Superior
Wisconsin's nickname is the Badger State.
