New Jersey is the 47th largest state in the United States and the 3rd to be admitted to the Union. New Jersey was admitted to the Union on December 18th, 1787. New Hampshire is situated in the mid Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States of America

New Jersey was named after the island of Jersey in the English Channel. New Jersey is bordered on the north by New York, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the Southwest by Delaware and on the west by Pennsylvania. Parts of New Jersey lie within the metropolitan areas of New York and Philadelphia.

New Jersey's nickname is the Garden State.
