New Hampshire is the 46th largest state in the United States and the 9th to be admitted to the Union. New Hampshire was admitted to the Union on June 21st, 1788. New Hampshire is situated in the New England region of the northeastern United States of America.

New Hampshire was named after the English county of Hampshire. New Hampshire was one of the original Thirteen Colonies.

New Hampshire is bounded by Quebec, Canada to the north and northwest, Maine and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Massachusetts to the south and Vermont to the West.

New Hampshire's nickname is the Granite State.
