Maine

Maine is the 39th largest state in the United States and the 23rd to be admitted to the Union. Maine was admitted to the Union on March 15th, 1820. Maine is situated in the New England region of the northeastern United States of America.

Maine has a jagged and mostly rocky coastline wiht low rolling mountains and heavily forested interior.

To the south and east is the Atlantic Ocean and to the north and northeast is New Brunswick, a province of Canada. Maine also borders New Hampshire.

Maine's nickname is the Pine Tree State.
