Money in the United States of America

Credit or Debit card is the best way to pay your expenses in the US . Mastercard, American Express, Visa Card, Diners Club and Discover are the main cards accepted in the US.

US Travellers cheques are ideal for carrying around and are safer than carry around regular cash. American Express, Thomas Cook and Visa are widely accepted as cash in restaurants, shops and gas stations. "No Checks" signs do not mean travellers cheques but personal cheques.
