Florida

Florida is the 22nd largest state in the United States and the 27th to be admitted to the Union. Florida was admitted to the Union on March 3rd, 1845.

Florida is situated in the southeastern region of the United States of America. Most of the state is a large peninsula with the Gulf of Mexico on its west and the Atlantic Ocean on its east. Most of the state has a subtropical climate except for southern Florida which has a tropical climate. Florida is bordered by the states of Georgia and Alabama. Florida is close to the islands of the Caribbean, especially the Bahamas and Cuba.

Florida has many attractions including Disneyland in Orlando, the Florida Keyes and the Kennedy Space Centre.

Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State.
